Uh oh!  It seems Humpty Dumpty is in pieces in the forest!  Children, come help find all his pieces and put him back together again while exploring the woods.  Hike distance one-half mile.  Rain will cancel.


Music on the Porch Bluegrass Jam

October 2, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.       Free

Enjoy familiar bluegrass tunes (and maybe some new ones) as you relax on the lawn or under a tree.  Bring a lawn chair.  Pickers are welcome!


Full Moon Hike
October 7, 8:00 p.m.      Free

Experience the forest in moonlight!  Bring a flashlight or headlamp for your safety.


2nd Saturday Volunteer Work Morning               

October 8, 9:00 a.m. to Noon

We will be collecting wildflower seed from the Tower meadow and the Radar meadow in preparation for next spring when we will extend the meadow into the area that was logged.  Refreshments and snacks will be provided.  Please let us know you are coming so we can plan.


Damsels and Dragons

October 8, 1:30 p.m.        Free

Guest speaker and dragonfly expert Tony Schoch will join us to teach us about dragonflies and damselflies, fascinating and beautiful insects.  Are they dangerous?  What good do they do?  We'll start inside as we learn about their life cycles.  Then we'll drive half a mile to a neighboring pond to hunt for them or to find signs of them.


Fitness Hike

October 9, 10:00 a.m.       Free

Enjoy a faster pace to get your heart rate up while exploring the trails of the Park.  No flip flops or sandals, please!  Bring water.


Rock Climbing Clinic

October 15, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.         Free

If you are curious what the sport of bouldering is all about, this clinic is for you.  You will get a chance to learn about and try equipment, and you will receive instruction on how to climb safely.  Class size is limited and you must be registered to attend.


Drawing Close to Nature
Nature Journaling Autumn

October 22, 1:00 p.m.      $5 per person

Bring your own journal (we supply color) for an hour of capturing the beauty of the season.  We see so much more when we are using our journals, and it is a tool to remember those special nature moments.


Golden Eagle Hikers

October 23, 1:30 p.m.     Free

This hike is for folks over age 50.  Enjoy the autumn woods on this 2- to 3-mile hike at a more gentle pace.
