Story Forest:  Snakes!

August 12, 10:30 a.m.      $5 per child; Members' children free

This story time is for you if you aren't too crazy about snakes!  We're going to read 2 books, meet a real (very sweet, tame, fun, cute, SWEET) snake named Snoop, and make a craft.  You'll see there's no need to be afraid.

Drawing Close to Nature

Nature Journaling Walk

August 13, 2:00 p.m.         $5 per person; Members free

Nature journaling is all about observing and really seeing and learning, not about making pretty pictures.  You'll take a short walk this afternoon to make a unique collection on your pages.  Bring your own journal.  We'll provide color.

Fitness Hike

This is a faster-paced hike to benefit your fitness level.  The length is 4 to 6 miles, and the trails are rocky and hilly.  Bring water.

Story Forest with Special Guest Hayden

Golden Eagle Hikers

August 21, 1:30 p.m.    ***Note: This is the 3rd Sunday instead of our usual 4th Sunday!

This hike is for folks over age 50 who want to hike at a slower pace for a shorter distance.  We'll cover 2 to 3 miles.  Bring water.  Wear sturdy shoes.  There are rocks and hills.

Insect Safari

August 27, 1:00 p.m.  Free
Let's see how many different kinds of bugs and other mini beasts we can find in the meadow and in the forest.  Why are bugs good to have in the environment?  We'll find that out!  How many different colors of insects can we find?  You might be surprised!  Everything we catch will be released again.

Moonlight Hike
