Calendar of Events
Registration is required. Call 717-964-3808 to register no later than 24 hours before an event or e-mail the park at governordick@hotmail.com and leave your name and phone number. All programs are free unless stated otherwise, payment for programs can be made the day of the program.
The Environmental Center is open Wednesday through Saturday 8:00 a.m. to
4:00 p.m. and Sunday 12:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Morning Lecture series: The Forest in Autumn
Sat. Aug. 30th 9 a.m.
Learn about the processes of the forest as we near winter: Why do leaves change color? How are the animals preparing? What should I do? and more. Coffee and other refreshments will be available.

Fitness Hike
Sun. Sept 7th 10 a.m.
An intermediate paced 5-6 mile hike. We will get a moderate workout while touring much of the Governor Dick Park and doing a few climbs.
Bluegrass Jam
Sun. Sept. 7th 1-4 p.m.
Bluegrass jam on the porch (or inside if it's hot!), pickers welcome!

Pawpaw Hike
Sat. Sept. 13th 10 a.m.
Come learn about the rich history of Pawpaw trees and why they're so beloved, then we will take a hike to get some!
Tree Identification pt. 1
Sat. Sept 20 10 a.m.
It's almost fall! Come learn how to identify some of the common trees found throughout Pennsylvania- in the part 1 class we will focus on broad categories and tree anatomy.
Tree Identification pt. 2
Sun. Sept 21st 1 p.m.
In the part 2 class we will learn about lesser known trees and how to tell similar looking trees apart, if you already know your basics, you can skip the part 1 class and come right to part 2!
Golden Eagle Hikers
Sun. Sept 21st 1:30 p.m.
A slower paced 2-3 mile beginner hike. In order to accommodate beginner hikers we will hike at the pace of the slowest hiker. All hikers are welcome to take part in this hike with the understanding that the pace may be slower than you prefer if you are more advanced.

The Board of Directors of the Clarence Schock Memorial Park at Governor Dick will meet on the below listed dates. Meetings are open to the public and are held at the Governor Dick Environmental Center, 3283 Pinch Road, Mt. Gretna, PA. Meetings begin at 7:15 p.m.
If State or Federal COVID 19 meeting restrictions are in place or there is inclement weather on the date of a meeting, the meeting will be held in virtual format utilizing ZOOM, tele-conferencing or other social media platforms. Members of the public desiring access to virtual meetings should email: Governordick@hotmail.com for a connection link.
